Its modular units make it a great option for any space and hundreds of fabrics allow you to stamp your personality all over it. Very comfortable for sitting upright and socialising with guests and for reclining back into any position that suits you between upright and almost horizontal.

You buy by the module to create your own size but a small non-recliner sofa has an rrp of £1829 (at the time of writing) . There are over 400 fabrics to choose from all of which are in the same price bracket and you can use multiple fabrics at no extra cost.

The Avalon is a new modular relax range that escapes from the conventional low folding head design, with a generously sized backrest which is inspired by the diamond backrests of the 70’s. This backrest, together with the design of the arms and its leg of 12 cm, makes Avalon a different model with a great personality.
Sustainability and the environment
Fama take their environmental responsibilities very seriously, using woods from sustainable forests, recycling 98% of their waste and refining their manufacturing and delivery processes to eliminate wastage.
Comfort
The Avalon is a very comfortable sofa with almost unanimous approval. The seat foam is a medium density with plenty of give, not super squashy and not rock hard, but the high soft back cushion is really where the comfort comes into it’s own. For many years now there has been a lot of demand for a high backed sofa that isn’t too deep and this one ticks all the boxes.
With an overall depth of 95cm (not reclined) it fits well into most rooms and is a very comfortable seat depth if you want to sit upright. The sofas generally come with an arm cushion for each arm that adds an extra layer of comfort. When it first arrives the seat and back cushions of the Avalon are at their firmest but it then settles over the following 3 months and maintains that level of comfort for years after that.

Maintenance
The Avalon does require some dressing after use to keep it looking at it’s very best. As with most soft seats the material is not as tightly filled, meaning there will be more movement and the potential for creases, so it will look best with a daily smoothing out routine. The seat cushions are fixed into place with velcro and can be fully removed if you really want to give it a good refresh. The back cushions are hooked together from the inside to give the diamond effect, which holds the shape meaning no dressing is needed apart from maybe plumping out the corners a bit.

Fama have a lot of confidence in the structure of their furniture and offer a lifetime guarantee on the frames of all their sofas and chairs and 10 years on the suspension. How does it arrive and will it fit through tight access?
The Avalon arrives with each module wrapped separately, in a compact package and will fit through most access. The backs of the recliners are removable and the feet go on afterwards. Some basic assembly is required once in the room of choice but that would be carried out by our delivery team, unless you requested otherwise. Once each unit has been assembled they are clipped together, out of sight, down the sides. It’s fairly easy to move the modules apart and put back if you need to move it for any reason at a later date, but the recliner modules are very heavy and need to be moved by two people and not dragged.
