The Lenny Chair has a very stylish design that would enhance any room, with it’s stunning curved arms, winged backrest and 5 star base and it’s also one of the most comfortable armchairs we’ve ever sat on. You can swivel 360 degrees to face any aspect of your room and it even has an optional tilting action that can be used to provide a relaxing rocking motion or in combination with the Lenny footstool to maintain a reclined position. Available in both fabric or leather you can bespoke design it with your choice of up to 3 fama fabrics  (seat cushion, back cushion and frame) from their huge range of over 400 options.

Price & Availability

It doesn’t come cheap with an RRP of £1195 (at the time of writing) but it’s quality really stands out with a great design and superior sitting experience making it well worth the investment. There are over 400 fabrics to choose from, all of which are in the same price bracket and you can use multiple fabrics, one for the seat, another for the back cushion and a third for the frame, at no extra cost. If you don’t want fabric you can also have the Lenny leather made in one of Fama’s hundreds of leathers for an extra fee.

Delivery from Spain in approximately 8 weeks, making Fama one of the fastest of our suppliers and a very good turn around for a custom made chair.

Design

Fama describe it as perhaps  their “most iconic design, a clever combination of concave and convex curves that create a unique and unrepeatable armchair”. The base is a swivel and tilting mechanism and a very smart 5 star base finished in a very modern chrome, matt metal, dark grey or nube. The round footstool is the perfect accessory to make Lenny an amazingly comfortable piece.. It’s curved arms and unique style means it compliments nicely with many sofas.

Sustainability and the environment

Fama take their environmental responsibilities very seriously, using woods from sustainable forests, recycling 98% of their waste and refining their manufacturing and delivery processes to eliminate wastage.

Comfort

The Lenny with it’s fiber seat and soft back offers the ultimate in comfort and was once described by a customer as “Like sitting on a cloud!”. The frame is a really nice size, with a lovely seat width allowing a snug seat but with comfortable armrest positions.

The tilting action works perfectly with the matching footstool or can be used to manufacture a rocking action, but if you’d rather less movement it can easily be tightened, by hand, underneath the chair, to stop tilting completely. The frame has two wings at the top, either side of your head to give you a rela sense of your own personal, relaxing space.

Maintenance

The Lenny is a fairly low maintenance piece of furniture, the manufacturers recommend daily dressing and plumping of the cushions and we’ve found that this will really help retain it’s shape very well, if you are sitting on it daily. The back cushions are zipped to the frame and seat cushion is loose so both can be removed occasionally if it needs a good plump up.

Fama have a lot of confidence in the structure of their furniture and offer a lifetime guarantee on the frames of all their sofas and chairs and 10 years on the suspension. In the rare event that anything does go wrong we’ve found that Fama’s customer care is second to none and they are always a pleasure to deal with.

Verdict

There is no need for compromise with the Lenny, it is both an extremely comfortable and stylish armchair. It’s iconic design sits well with most sofas and fama’s extraordinary range of fabrics and leathers means you can build it to suit your personality. The smooth 360° swivel system means you can take full advantage of your whole room, be it watching TV or twisting to make the most of the view out of your window. It has already been around for a few years showing that it stands the test of time, although keeps up with the latest fashions with Fama’s relentless pursuit of new fabrics.

Who this is for

The Lenny appeals to a broad range of customers, young and old, male and female, although men do sometimes prefer the larger dimensions of the Romeo chair from Fama. It can look very modern or classic depending on the choice of fabric.

How does it arrive and will it fit through tight access?

The Lenny arrives in a compact package and will fit through most access. The back cushion zips off so the chair can be turned on its side to get through most doorways. If worst comes to worst it is possible to remove the base, making it even smaller. We have even delivered a couple of lenny chairs on to a narrow boat (image below)
